Bletchley Park, the place where Alan Turing helped to break the German Enigma code during WW2, is to take part in LGBT History Month.

An event on Sunday, February 28, will feature "The Wartime Achievements of Alan Turing" - a lecture about Turing's work during WW2. The Chair of LGBT History Month will lead a debate called "Why We Need To Claim Our History".

Despite helping the allies shorten the war, Turing was prosecuted for homosexual acts in 1954. As a result of the prosecution he was chemically castrated and killed himself two years later.
