Singer Jason Abrahams will be performing many of his favourite swing numbers in aid of children's HIV charity, CHIVA. The line up will include songs such as
Fly Me To The Moon, I Get A Kick Out Of You, Mr Bojangles, Mack The Knife and
New York, New York.
Jason will be joined by Nicky Mitchell and her velvet tones, the Harmonious Ela Southgate and Rachel Dey and Mr Matt Wall. The "
traffic stopping gatecrasher" Laura Nixon will also put in an appearance.
Recently confirmed in Mr David Raven and Jason has his fingers crossed that Mr Dave Lynn will also be present.
Every penny raised will go to CHIVA, the Children's HIV Association.
Jason said:
"The HIV positive young people we work with have said they want this summer camp to be a place where they are free to be who they are, rather than hiding parts of themselves for fear of how others may react to them. The mission of the camp is to provide a facility where young people have their right to be accepted and to be ‘free’ upheld.
"Those attending will be between 13 and 18 years of age. These young people frequently experience discrimination and face considerable challenges due to living with HIV. CHIVA is committed to working to ensure these young people are afforded the same opportunities as every other young person. We believe that all children and young people have a right to be involved in society, to have their voices heard and not to be judged.
"I think you will agree with me this charity deserves all the support we can give."
Swing Into Summer will take place at Dr Brightons on Wednesday July 14 from 8.30pm
Tickets are £4 from Dr Brightons and include a glass of wine on arrival.
