Right, now let’s get with the program, it’s ‘
Bullet for my Valentine’ time and it’s not often I get to review some Welsh metelcore but these good old boyos, made very, very good in America after they released their previous album ‘
Scream, Aim, Fire'; and it raged up the Billboard charts.
As you can imagine from that soft and gentle title these lads, who are all as delightfully tattooed, buff and sullen as you could want them to be are storming the States as I type, at No 4 last time I looked, with their new album ‘
Fever’. Those wanting some ravishing Peggy Lee covers had better leave the room quickly now as this is high-octane, man tough and rampant music.
I loved it, it’s great fuck music and certainly a great deal of fun to drive to, the lads are vocally interesting and the music bangs along with seriously great riffs from
Michael Paget and a sense of passion missing from most contemporary hard rock. These lads are on the long haul to international stardom and they are the best, no-
The Best heavy metal band that’s come out of the UK in 20 years.
If you’ve not heard them yet, then this is your wake up call, their complex music and surprisingly syrupy ballads will catch you off guard and I’ve been playing this full whack all week in the car. The lyrics ain’t up to scratch on this album but the songs are memorable and short and this is all you need for some decent head banging screeching.
Matt Tuck, the lead singer in this once again goes to show why the Welsh have such a reputation for vocal passion and madness and this whole brooding rocking madness of an album blows their peers out of the water and is a slick product with some serious credibility and spine.
By the way boyos, I love the hair too!
