Tarner and Eastern Road Area Partnerships held one of their "
Clean Up & Green Up" days last week. Teams of local residents litter picked the area and also planted wild flowers in a number of locations. This event is now celebrating its Third birthday.
Chris Cooke, Chair of the Eastern Road Partnership, said:
"It's really great to see residents taking ownership of the streets where they live, and this event shows what can be done to the local area when we all make a concerted effort. It was encouraging to see a good turnout on the day, and we had some thirty people donating their time and energy.
"It is also very gratifying to see other community groups in the City following our lead, and introducing their own Clean Up events, working hard to make sure neighbourhoods are looking their best"
Chris is also Chair of both the St.James's Area Local Action Team and KempTown In Bloom.
