HIV and sexual health charity THT (Terrence Higgins Trust) is launching an appeal for people to take part in the first ever Brighton Marathon and help raise funds for the charity. THT has guaranteed places for the marathon which takes place on Sunday April 18 2010.

The course is reasonably fast and flat, touring much of the city of Brighton and Hove and taking in the coastal views. In return for a guaranteed place THT asks runners to raise a minimum sponsorship of £350. Money raised will be used to support THT’s vital services providing support for people living with or affected by HIV.

Mark Cull, Health Promotion Co-ordinator for THT in Brighton, said:
“THT has guaranteed places and would welcome any fitness enthusiasts to come forward and run the Brighton Marathon for us. We’ll ensure that you get lots of support, have a great day out, and by taking part you’ll know that the money you raise will help support THT's vital HIV and sexual health services.

“THT provides all our runners with a fundraising pack, as well as advice and support before, during and after the race - we’ll be there with you every step of the way.”

Anyone becoming part of the THT team will receive:
A THT T-shirt or vest to wear on the day.
A fundraising pack giving lots of ideas to boost fundraising targets
Training advice
Regular e-newsletters
