St James's Street will receive an extra PCSO (police community support officer) to help with anti-social issues in the area. This means St James's St has the dedicated resources of an LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) officer and two further PCSOs, Sam Justice and the newly appointed Francesca Parsons.

Insp David Derrick said:
"Along with other crime fighting initiatives around the St James's Street area I believe this extra resource will help with the concerns of the St James's Street LAT (Local Action Team). These concerns include anti-social behaviour and these staff are dedicated to serving the community and helping with these issues. Further to this the Neighbourhood Policing Teams will have days of action on St James St where all forms of anti social behaviour will be challenged

"This decision has been made following concerns made from the LAT and our ability to respond as a Neighbourhood Policing Team. Working together with the LAT it will be our ambition that St James's St remains a vibrant business community balanced with the needs of the residential community."

Chris Cooke, the LAT Chair, said:
"The package of new measures that Insp Derrick and I unveiled at the LAT will give confidence to residents and businesses alike, that anti-social behaviour is being given No.1 priority by the Neighbourhood Policing Team in the St.James's area and that it will not be tolerated"
