Simon Burgess, Labour & Co-op Candidate for Brighton Kemptown, who gave a reading at the Sussex Beacon Christmas Carol Concert this week is urging local residents to donate to the Sussex Beacon this Christmas.
Simon said:
"The Carol Concert was a wonderful way of celebrating the work of the Beacon and was particularly poignant for me this year because the next day was the funeral of a hard-working tenants representative, Nick Tew, who spent his final days at the Beacon. Tenant representatives like Nick deserve our deep gratitude because they work tirelessly without recognition on behalf of their fellow tenants. Nick was one of the most generous and caring people I have ever had the honour to work with and he will be sorely missed. He ensured great improvements were made to St.James's House in the High Street including internet access for those who would not otherwise be able to afford it.
"The loss of Nick, and the positive atmosphere of the Carol Concert have renewed my determination to complete the Brighton Marathon in April, I will be raising funds for the Sussex Beacon, Martlets Hospice and the Argus Appeal."
