Gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell and feminist and socialist Maire Daley will be discussing the pros and cons of same-sex marriage. The debate will take place in London tomorrow evening (Monday 26).
 
Issues to be addressed will include:
 
Is marriage a patriarchal, heterosexist institution?
 
Are civil partnerships a second class legal status?
 
Does the demand for same-sex marriage embody a conformist, assimilationist agenda?
 
Should both civil marriage and civil partnerships be open equally to queer and straight couples?
 
How would you feel if the government banned black people from marriage and offered them civil partnerships instead?
 
Are civil partnerships a form of sexual apartheid?

The event lasts from 7pm to 9pm tomorrow (Monday 26) at 25 Red Lion Square, London WC1
