Next February will see GMTV's Mr Motivator and, hundreds of others, race up the thirty-eight floors of London’s most iconic building, 30 St Mary Axe, better known as The Gherkin.
The event, which aims to raise a minimum of £125,000 for the charity’s Child’s Voice Appeal, will take place on Sunday February 7, 2010. Participants can enter as individuals or a team of four and either walk or run up the 1,037 steps to the exclusive bar at the top - where they will enjoy the spectacular views and a well deserved glass of champagne.
Mr Motivator said:
“Whilst working to get the nation fit, I’m very proud to be supporting the NSPCC’s Step Change Challenge – it’s a perfect way to launch that New Year fitness regime while raising funds for a great cause.”
Sam Hutchinson, NSPCC community fundraising manager said:
"This event has been very popular due to the exclusive access we can provide to the Gherkin. Limited places are still available and we’re offering people of all levels of fitness the chance to have a go. So start the New Year as you mean to go on and help us move one step closer to ending cruelty to children."
Money raised from the event will go towards the NSPCC’s Child’s Voice Appeal, the NSPCC’s three-year appeal to raise £50 million to maintain and grow the NSPCC’s helplines, text and online counselling services.
