The Rainbow Chorus will be giving two concerts during this year’s Brighton Fringe Festival called "
Pop Goes the Rainbow".
A spokesman for the chorus said:
"This year’s concept can be compared to a jukebox full of the greatest pop & rock classics from the last five decades.
"Over the last three years the choir has surprised festival goers with performances from 'West Side Story', Poulenc’s 'Gloria', and socialist and suffragette music in ‘Choral Propaganda’. Musical Director Matthew Pollard loves to surprise the audience and his choice was to dedicate this year’s Fringe festival concert to pop music.
"It’s also for the first time that The Rainbow Choir will give two concerts during the festival to ensure that all their fans will have the opportunity to attend their concert.
"Dig out your disco clobber and get into the groove as the Rainbow Chorus will lead you through a parade of 20 pop hits! Fabulous arrangements of pop and rock classics, from Kylie Minogue to The Beatles, via Queen to Pink. The concerts will also include several solo performances, surely not to be missed.
"Guests DJ’s Spinny & Susanna will warm the venue up to get this party started. Book your tickets now to ensure you’ll be part of this musical spectacle. Dress to impress and celebrate five decades of pop music!"
Pop Goes the Rainbow is on Thursday May 6 and Friday May 7 at Brighton Unitarian Church, New Road, Brighton. Both performances will be signed for the deaf.
