Prime Minister visits Brighton

The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown paid a whistle stop visit to Brighton yesterday (Friday 16), to support the election campaigns of the three local Labour candidates, Simon Burgess (Kemp Town), Nancy Platts (Pavilion) and Celia Barlow (Hove).

He visited Bhasvic Sixth Form College in Dyke Road, where he was joined on stage by comedian Eddie Izzard and they both took questions from the students. Izzard later went door knocking with Simon Burgess in Kemp Town where he told Gscene that in his view there was only one choice at the coming election and that was to vote Labour adding: 
“Gordon Brown is the best man to ease the country out of recession and Labour policies are best suited to protect essential services such as health and education.”

The Prime Minster moved onto Hastings in the afternoon.
