Pride ‘Beside the Seaside’ Council Grants

Brighton and Hove Council awarded their Pride ‘Beside the Seaside’ Day Grants ’09 to the following LGBT groups and organisations.

Brighton and Hove LGBT Switchboard, who had a float in the Parade, were awarded £400.

The Gender Trust were awarded £500 for a Trans safe space on Preston Park.

Spectrum, the LGBT Community Forum received £975 for an access tent for disabled people.

Calabash and the Brighton Women's Centre were awarded £1000 each for a BME performance tent and a women's performance tent, respectively.

Brighton Lesbian and Gay Sports Society BLAGSS received £250 towards their walking tableau on the parade and park information space, as did the Young People’s Centre (Impact).

The Rainbow Chorus received £400 towards their float, whilst the young people’s 'safe space' by the Allsorts Youth Project was awarded £400.

The Justin campaign received £595 to organise a 'Tackling Homophobia' football event on the park.

Finally, the Brighton and Hove LGBT bus staff were awarded £230 towards the cost of their float.

The total amount awarded in grants was £6000.
