Police appeal for witness to robbery at Dukes Mound

Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery and assault in the Dukes Mound area of Brighton at roughly mid-day on Sunday October 25.

The male victim was in the Dukes Mound area of the seafront when he was approached by a man who punched him in the face before going through his pockets and taking his property which included 2 rings, a gold ring with black onyx and a gold St George sovereign ring.  Another man was also present. The attack is being treated by police as potentially homophobic. A man has been arrested and questioned in connection with the incident.

The first man was described as white, 18-20 years, slim, 5'11" with dark scruffy hair and dark clothing. The second man was described as white, 18-20 years, slim 5'11" with blond tidy hair and a white jacket.

Police are asking for anyone who might have witnessed the attack, or who saw the men in the area or who might have information about the suspects or rings, to contact them on 0845 60 70 999 quoting reference 1456 25/10.
