National Student Pride is scheduled to take place in Brighton on March 6, 2010. Its theme will be Love Music Hate Homophobia.

The 2010 celebrations will feature a pre-pride Friday night party at Revenge followed by a daytime event on the Saturday, from 12-6pm that will include question time panel debates with celebrity and political panellists, live music, a marketplace, workshops and a VIP drinks reception.

After this finishes, students will then embark upon a pub-crawl around Brighton’s gay scene before gathering at Coalition for a club night. The official after-party is at Revenge from 3am.

The 2009 event included a successful pub crawl around the gay bars in the city, a daytime event at Oceana with appearances from politicians, lobbyists and personalities including BBC Radio 1’s Aled Haydn Jones and a club night hosted by Jodie Harsh and a headline performance from Frankmusik.

The lead singer of The Feeling agreed to be this year’s Patron with National Union of Students President Wes Streeting as Honorary President.

This year the committee also benefits from a number of honorary members who are on hand for advice and suggestions. The 2010 honorary committee includes reFRESH Magazine Editor-in-Chief David Tickner, Beige Magazine’s features editor Torsten Hojer and Real City Networks Managing Director Sam Milford.

There are still plenty of opportunities to get involved and support this event, so anyone wanting to help out as a sponsor or performer can email: tom@studentpride.co.uk
