Mirror Associate Editor and columnist Kevin Maguire came to Whitehawk last weekend to lend Simon Burgess a hand on the campaign trail.

Simon Burgess, Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Kemptown, said:
"It was really good of Kevin to take a day out of his busy schedule to chat to my volunteers over a curry lunch and then to give an entertaining speech on why we must win. He even recorded a video good luck message and stayed on to push leaflets through letterboxes. It so refreshing to have a journalist putting the case for investment in public services and help for the least well off in both the Mirror and on TV, I am really pleased to have his support."
