Simon Kirby MP

Simon Kirby, MP for Brighton Kemptown, has urged Culture, Media and Sport Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, to locate the new national  network for local city based TV in Brighton.

Writing to the Secretary of State, Mr Kirby states that Brighton is the hub for digital arts and media on the south coast and that there would be strong backing from local partners and agencies for such a move.

Mr Kirby said:
"Brighton is the right place to locate a channel like this and I wanted to let the Minister know. There is a great deal of support for a local TV channel in Brighton and given the city's arts, media and digital profile would be an ideal national location for the local network that is planned. I wrote to the Secretary of State this week, setting this out."
