Two city Green parliamentary candidates Ben Duncan and Ian Davey have launched new websites ahead of the general election.
The two Brighton councillors’ new sites have been launched as the council closed down its facility for councillors’ blogs ahead of next month's parliamentary election, where Cllr Duncan and Cllr Davey hope to be elected MPs for Brighton Kemptown and Hove respectively.
Cllr Ben Duncan said:
"The new site’s been a while coming – but I think it will play a decisive role in this election.
“I used to attract over 1,000 readers a week when I wrote regularly on a ‘blogsite called ‘Kemptown Ben’s Green Blog’. I think people are so interested in the alternative to voting labour and Tory in this election that I’ll attract even more on the new site.
"They'll be able to read regular updates from the campaign trail, lots of information about me and my council work and, crucially, details of the Green Party’s manifesto.
“Visitors will discover that the Greens aren’t a single issue party concerned solely with the environment – but have a raft of policies to make the UK a fairer place for everyone."
Cllr Ian Davey said:
"Greens are up beat about the arrival of the digital and social media age as it gives parliamentary candidates like me the chance to communicate with a far wider audience and on the same level as the big Westminster parties who dominate coverage on TV, radio and in the national press. It's really rewarding to discuss election issues with Hove voters in a way that just wouldn't have been possible before."
