Light up a Life is an opportunity for local people to remember and celebrate the life of a loved one which takes place at Hove Town Hall on Sunday, December 6 at 3pm. The ceremony is open to anyone and there is no need to have a connection with the Hospice.
There is no charge to attend the event however those requesting a dedication will be asked to make a donation. A spokesman for the hospice said:
“Our service depends on your generosity. People are often surprised by how little government funding we receive and how much we must raise from individual supporters. To meet our patients needs costs just over £11,000 a day. Every day including Christmas”
A family member described what a huge difference the Martlets made to her life:
“Words really can’t express how much your kindness and efforts in caring for her meant during the last few days. We are also very appreciative of your kindness and support you gave to us in preparing us for everything. I don’t know how we would have coped without your support the night she passed away”
