BLAGSS (Brighton Lesbian and Gay Sports Society) has applied for a community grant from Barclays Money Skills. 120 groups have applied in the hope of receiving one of the three grants of £5,000, £3,000 or £2,000.
To be successful tokens that will be printed in the Argus Newspaper until Wednesday December 2 must be collected. Each token counts as a single vote towards the awards process. BLAGSS would welcome as much support from the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community in collecting tokens and sending the tokens to them by the closing date of December 4 2009.
BLAGSS wishes to encourage wider participation from those who are under-represented and to further promote the healthy benefits of regular activity.
Provision of equipment, coaching, and the introduction of new sporting groups is their goal. Members currently access a range of activities whether for fun or competitively - badminton, cycling, football, golf, petanque, rock climbing, running, sailing, squash, swimming, tennis, ten pin bowling, volleyball and walking.
