Cllr Davey
Green Cllr Ian Davey has labelled Tory council transport plans as "confused and shambolic".

The criticism follows claims by the Leader of the Council that she couldn’t say how much developing plans for a new cycle lane had cost, despite having previously responded to an Freedom of Information request with a figure of 93 000 pounds.

Ian said:
“The Tory administration appears to have little grip on local transport issues. Their plans are confused and shambolic.

“The muddle over the Old Shoreham rd cycle lane is just the latest in a long line of apparent policy u-turns by the administration. Despite public support for the proposals, they’ve decided to abandon the plans with no credible explanation. One week they know how much proposals have cost, the next week they can’t put a precise figure on it. What on earth is going on?

“I can’t help thinking they’re scrabbling around trying to dream up a credible explanation f or their failure to put improved public transport and greater support for walking and cycling at the heart of their transport agenda.”
