Gay feature films will open and close the 7th annual End of the Pier International Film Festival which takes place in Worthing from April 24 to May 1.

Release, which will be screened on Sunday 25 April, is about a priest who is sent to prison and he is abandoned by his congregation and Church. Thinking he is a paedophile his fellow inmates intimidate him. He meets a prison officer Martin and they engage in an illicit affair  behind cell doors.  Prison gang leader Max however has ulterior objections and goes about trying to ruin the relationship. The film deals with a wide range of issues including homophobia whilst also examining the role of gay men in the priesthood.

The Cost of Love, to be screened Sunday May 1, is about a rent boy who specializes in fulfilling sexual fantasies, although his own dreams of a happy ending are complicated by the fact that he secretly loves his soon-to-be-married straight best friend Raj. The film co-stars Michael Joyce, better known on the gay scene as flamboyant drag artiste Estee Applauder, and Brazilian beefcake model Israel Cassol, both making their big screen debuts.
