Judith Manson, Pride's paid worker announced on Juice FM today the prices for tickets for this years event on Preston Park.

She said tickets at £8.50 for people living in the BN postcode will be available on sale 'sometime in April'. Followed by tickets at £12.50. No concesssions were announced for unemployed people, disabled people or students.

Sources close to Pride have confirmed to Gscene Magazine this afternoon that 10,000 ticket will be available at £8.50 for two weeks only, 30,000 would then be released at £12.50 and finally 5,000 would be available at £17.50 on the day.

Pride chose to announce the prices in an exclusive interview through their media partner Juice FM.

The interviewer did not challenge Pride on:

Who was operating the various attractions on Preston Park.
Why their biggest supporter Stagfleet Ltd owners of Revenge nightclub last week relinquished the four years bars contract they signed just 10 months ago and would not be hosting the dance tent.
How much money was guaranteed for the LGBT voluntary sector.
Would ticket money for Pride be held in a holding account until after the event or used to finance Prides activities and pay off any financial deficit.
Would people be able to bring drinks onto the park.

Following the noon announcement there was furious activity on the official Pride in Brighton and Hove Facebook Page.

Suzanne Langton said:
"Congratulations on excluding LGBTQ youth from the most famous Pride event in the UK."

David Pleavin said:
"I want to see a breakdown of the ticket money. Where its going, and why Reclaim Pride (in December) was able to suggest £6 for the event, that Pride in B&H is suggesting £17.50 for."

Neesh Gibney said:
"Pride is one day a year where we can all feel united and safe within probably the only community where we've actually felt 'normal' and to charge for that is ridiculous! Nottingham pride, London pride, Birmingham pride, Leicester pride all manage to keep their events free for visitors even though they (especially Leicester and Nottingham) have a lower budget and lower finances. This is outrageous."

K Elecktra Jones said:
"How ironic is the small heading under the main title " Non-Profit Organisation."

Jose Joey Scott commented:
‎"Your Registered objectives are.
• Summer Festival, Parade and Park.
• Improve Parade.
• Park open to all; Donations at entry points.
• Community ‘heart of the park’.
• Range of entertainment tents.
• Sports/activities areas.
• Market trader’s area."

Please note bullet point 3.

DONATIONS at entry points. OPEN TO ALL.
