A fire which broke out at Legends Hotel, Marine Parade, has resulted in the temporary closure of the hotel and its bar.
Arran Pawson, the hotel's marketing manager, said:
"Sadly Legends Hotel was closed today due to fire.
"The fire broke out around 5pm on 11th of March, everyone was evacuated and there were no casualties. The fire brigade arrived quickly and dealt with the situation professionally.
"We’d like to reassure everyone that the damage was minimal and was contained in a small area. Contrary to reports; Legends bar, club and our hotel rooms were not damaged. We expect to open the bar very soon and we will keep you informed through this site and Facebook.
"If you have booked to stay wth us in the next week, we will be contacting you shortly.
"Meanwhile we would like to thank:
"The Sussex Fire Brigade; we feel an enormous amount of respect for these amazing men and women.
"The Amsterdam Hotel; in your hour of need you really get to know who your friends are and these guys were amazingly helpful and generous. If you wish to book a room in Brighton this weekend please use these guys.
"The people of Brighton who have been for the most part very supportive.
"All our lovely customers.
"Thank you for your support.
"We will be back soon."
