The Liberal Democrats today received a celebrity endorsement from Harry Potter star, Daniel Radcliffe.

After Colin Firth's contribution to "Why Vote Liberal Democrat" it has been announced today that Radcliffe will also be supporting the Liberal Democrats. Furthermore, it has been reported in the Daily Mail the young star holds regular conversations with leader Nick Clegg, and is taking an increasingly pro-active approach to politics and the Liberal Democrats. He will also endorse the party in a major interview in the US addition of Vogue next month.

Newly elected Chair of Liberal Youth, Alan Belmore commented :
"Having such a high profile endorsement is wonderful, and I look forward to seeing Mr. Radcliffe on the campaign trail. Most importantly, this shows that the Liberal Democrats are the party that are standing up for young people. We are serious about canceling tuition fees and we are serious about tackling youth unemployment. These are the issues that cause young people like Daniel Radcliffe to support the party and campaign for Liberal Democrat policy."

A Lib Dem spokesman said:
"We are delighted to have Daniel as a supporter and it’s great he has said he is going to vote for the Lib Dems. Daniel’s fanbase reaches far and wide, young and old."
