Over the next few weeks Brighton & Hove City Council is carrying out its annual canvass to compile the electoral register. A voter registration form will be delivered to every household in the city.
To save time and money, if there are no changes to the information on the voter registration form, residents will be able to register by freephone or online.
If there are any changes, or new names to add to the voter registration form, residents should complete and post the form back to the council.
The electoral register is based on where people will be living on October 15, and it will be published on December 1 2010. The register will be used for the city council elections in May 2011, as well as any other elections or referendums next year.
Councillor Trevor Alford, cabinet member for electoral services, said:
“
By completing and returning the form Brighton & Hove voters will be making sure they will be able to have their say on what matters to them.”
