Brighton and Hove City Council is bidding for up to £5m of additional funding to bring council housing up to the national guidance 'decent homes' standard.

Brighton Kemptown MP, Simon Kirby, said:
"Since 2007 the Conservative-led Council has worked hard to bring more homes up to the decent home standard and that policy is succeeding. However, this money will give a real shot in the arm to the City Council's investment plans.

"I am happy to help in any way I can to help bring pressure to bear on the Government to agree the money for the Council."
