Following the announcement that Pride in Brighton & Hove had identified a potential financial deficit of £50,000 this year, over £1,000 was donated in the first week. Despite the initial online activity things have slowed down considerably, putting the total raised in three weeks to £2,816.35.
 
Yvonne Barker, Chair of Pride in Brighton & Hove said:
“The message is clear, if we are unable to raise sufficient funds to cover the expected shortfall, we will need to seriously scale back next year’s Pride festivities and reduce the support we are able to give to local LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community groups.”
 
Planned fundraising events include:

White Air supports Pride: White Air, Europe’s largest extreme sports festival, is showing their support by setting up an exclusive Pride promotional link on Ticketmaster where people can buy discounted weekend, Friday/Saturday or Sunday tickets. And, for every ticket sold through this link, White Air will make a donation to Pride in Brighton & Hove.

Wild Fruit Presents Pink @ Ink Meeting House Lane
On Sunday September 13 there will be an exclusive preview night of a brand new night from Aeon Events. ‘Pink’ @ the completely refurbished ‘Ink’ venue in the lanes. Pink will be welcoming a host of  Brighton ’s 'beautiful people' with DJs Dave Kendrick & Pete Haywood plus guests playing future space disco & old school house!

There will be free champagne and free entry between  8pm -9pm (while stocks last) cocktails, drink giveaways, nibbles and special drink deals all night. There will also be bucket collections for Pride

On Sunday September 13 Revenge will be shaking the bucket on the door and asking everyone for a donation as they enter the club.
 
Pride Cabaret Fundraiser Weekend @ Queen's Arms
From Friday 9-Sunday October 11,  12pm -2am there will be many acts from the cabaret circuit taking to the stage along with DJ Kamp Kevin. On Sunday Lola Lasagne takes to the stage at 5.30pm followed by a cabaret marathon from 7pm
