Simon Burgess, the Labour candidate for Brighton Kemptown, has pledged his backing for the Royal British Legion's Manifesto for candidates at the next general election.

Simon said:
"Backing those who have put their lives on the line in the service of their country is a very separate issue from whether you agree with the conflicts they are posted to. They and their families deserves fair and proper treatment, the Legions manifesto sets out a constructive way forward to achieve that."

Simon's brother in law is a Royal Marine and has served in Afghanistan.

The Royal British Legion has published its own manifesto for the next general election today (21/9/9). Championing the cause of the whole Armed Forces family, it covers Service personnel and their families, bereaved Armed Forces families and veterans and their families.
