Liberal Democrats have held the Seaford North town council by-election, with the BNP getting just 20 votes.

The Lib Dem Nick Norman held the seat with 407 votes, the Conservatives 319, Labour 137, Independent 74 and the BNP just 20. There was no Green candidate.

A team from Brighton and Hove Lib Dems supported their Lewes colleagues, with Cllr Paul Elgood saying:
"The BNP were humiliated by this result and their form of hatred soundly rejected again by the electorate."
