Allsorts Youth Project in Brighton has launched Male Matter's, a group for gay, bi and unsure men who are under 26, which meets once a month in central Brighton.

The aim of Male Matter’s is to provide a safe space for young men to hang out and discuss topics that are important and specific to them.

Male Matter’s also provides social activities, outdoor activity based residential, free food (at the meetings), volunteering opportunities, sexual health information, free condoms and one-to-one support and advice.

Matt Gardiner, the project's co-ordinator, said:
“It’s great that we now have a service for young gay, bi, trans and unsure men in the city. Whilst overall as an LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community we have common needs and goals, it is important to remember that there are smaller groups within this, for which there needs can be different and unique. This is where Male Matter’s steps in. We now have a service for young men in our community which meets their needs, has peer support and the great aspect about this is that you can take as much or as little from the group as you want.”
