Allsorts Youth Project’s official ten year anniversary will take place in November. To celebrate they are inviting past, present, volunteers and friends of the organisation to an event being held on Tuesday, November 24, in central Brighton
Allsorts supports young people aged under 26 who are LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) or unsure of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity in the Brighton & Hove and Sussex areas. For the past decade, Allsorts has been in contact with hundreds of young people through it’s drop-in, one-to-one support services, workshops, website and LGBT youth resources.
Celebrations will start from 6.30pm- 9.30pm with guest speakers from people who have been a key part of Allsorts over the years, presentations and entertainment by the young people and a slideshow of highlights.
If you are a former member of Allsorts, they are particularly interested in hearing from you.
Alexandra Spurrier a young volunteer said:
“Allsorts has been fantastic and over the years I‘ve grown and developed through the support that Allsorts has given me. I’ve made many friends and I wouldn’t be the same without Allsorts, and couldn’t imagine a world with out Allsorts. Let’s hope in the next 10 years LGBT-phobia will be history.”
