The St. James's Area Businesses Group is helping promote environmentally friendly cotton bags produced for the AIDS memorial in New Steine Gardens.
The bags are on sale for £1.50 with 50p from each bag going to the memorial.
Simon Burgess, who chairs the St.James's Area Action Group and is a memorial trustee, said:
"The fact that the shops selling them are taking no profit but just raising money for the memorial shows how in tune the businesses are with the local community. Businesses in the St.James's Area face a tough time in the new year with three months of roadworks for gas mains replacement - I hope residents and visitors will continue to support businesses during that difficult time, as businesses support the local community."
The bags can be bought at Yummy Stuff, Kemptown Tools, Pullingers and Kiss me Kwik - all on George St, and also Cardome on St. James's Street.
