Up to 200 jobs have been offered to staff being made redundant by Lloyds TSB.

Local employer Domestic & General, working with support from Brighton & Hove City Council, has offered up to 200 roles to those people affected by the closure of Lloyds TSB’s call centre in Brighton including team leader, account executive and contact centre manager positions.

The council’s City Employment Initiatives team has worked with Domestic & General to help facilitate the contact and offered support and advice.

Cllr Mary Mears, leader of Brighton & Hove City Council said:
“This is great news, just what you want to hear at Christmas time!  Domestic & General demonstrates exactly what can be achieved with a proactive council employment team and a committed local organisation.  We’ll continue looking at other ways to minimise the impact of any closure in the city.”

Marina Kulikova, Domestic & General’s recruitment manager, said:
“We’re delighted to be able to help some of these people stay in work – it’s a win win for everyone.  We appoint talented and experienced professionals and they move straight into from one job to another.  We’re grateful for the council’s help in supporting us build our presence in the city over the last year.”

Domestic and General contact in Brighton is part of Domestic and General Group, which is a UK provider of warranty protection for domestic appliances. Lloyds TSB announced the closure of its Brighton call centre with the loss of around 400 jobs last month.
