One Step Forward, Two Steps Backward

The whole gay issue is now becoming way too politicized and bastardised and has put us all on a collision course.
The issue of gay rights has become an angry and confrontational exercise that is becoming an eyesore.
There appears to be a cold wind blowing from many quarters especially in America where referenda have been less than generous towards those with different sexual preferences.
The anti-choice movement are gaining substantial ground and the media maybe changing direction to some degree it has to be said in an ugly display of polarized thinking.
The debate on gay rights has drawn serious opponents far and wide and it looks as if full gay rights towards marriage are a hell of a long way off and will face ongoing resentment even if legislation is passed.
There is some agreement on partnership rights, but it seems to be confined to derisory rights which are in themselves an insult and treat gay people as second class citizens.
The gay movement is now encountering serious opposition from vocal and vociferous conservatives, and the Catholic church which is a vehement opponent of the gay world.
There is no point in believing that we are living in a democracy, because all the evidence shows that we are living in a highly intolerant society and there is a massive difference between political-correct orations by politicians who don't want to upset anyone and what is said by them behind the scenes.
Sure you are entitled to your opinion and lifestyle but don't stray too far... the gay community have a hell of long way to go to live in a comfortable place and ironically the straight community!
