Coalition Fail on Medical Records

In the past both the Conservatives and their Democrat Partners pledged to roll back the database State and Scrap ID Cards. However, since the elections the Coalition's actions are not consistent.
Last week more people's medical details were added to the Summary Care Record
system than in any single week to date - 132,000.
Most won't even have known they had a chance to make a choice.
In my own case I sent a form back requesting an opt out form be sent to me, (what a waste of money when the option could have been sent in the first place), that form never arrived before the deadline and I was forced to go on-line to get the opt out form I was entitled to in the first place and walk it round to my surgery
Saying you'll "give patients control of their records" while allowing well over half a million people's details to be sucked into a system that gives it irrevocably to
NHS management is not just breaking a promise. It shows both that the bureaucracy is still in control and patient privacy is fundamentally undermined.
Will people have the chance to withdraw from the whole NHS staff viewing their records - of course not!
