Hot off the press this (very) graphic novel by the duo Franze & Andärl is a fun read and sexy with it.  It’s a simple pirate love story detailing the developing relationship between two very different men, both prisoners of their fate; one a rough square edged pirate (Black Wade) and the other a young fine English officer (Jack Wilkins) who’s first his foe, then his captive and ultimately his lover. They become overwhelmed by their passion and unite in a fight for freedom and love.

It’s a finely drawn, detailed and vividly colored story and it’s eighty full colour pages never let up with plot, thrills or sensual explicit sex.  It’s funny, historically accurate and erotic.

To call it a comic doesn’t do justice to this book. It’s visually stunning and the story has a naturalness that involves the reader from the start. I loved it.

Check out Franze & Andärl’s website for more on this book and others they are planning.  www.jimbocomics.com

If you’re new to gay graphic novels then climb aboard Black Wade’s pirate ship and indulge your greed for gold and lust, if you’re a collector of fine graphic erotic art then this is a must have for the collection. If you’re a fan of Tom of Finland then these lads are worth checking out, the men are as shamelessly sexual as his uber-blokes, and have as much fun too.

These lads have got a firm grip on this very popular genre and are not going to let it go till it loves ‘em.
