This is a quality hardback photo book from the established publishers Bruno Gmünder. A collection of black and white photo’s from Howard Roffman, famous from his previous book
‘The Boys of Bel Ami’ and it’s style and content is much the same.
‘Christopher and the Boys’ is a collection of his work from over the past five years, and it is also the last book of his black and while photography. Roffman has published over 14 books and is one of the more successful gay photographers. More of his work and some shots from this book are on his website:

The young men, both alone and in couples are artfully shot in a number of classic American locations with each photo concentrating on lingering and intimate shots of the boy-men. They go from elf like and shy through to full on aroused and erotic, but always with a knowing candid gay stare, and the odd wink.
Each set of pictures in this book are accompanied by a short explanation of who the lads are and how Roffman got to photograph them, and if you like the young, hairless and beautiful youth then this is a book for you.
There’s no doubt that Roffman is an accomplished photographer and most of these images have a well crafted art quality to them.
It’s not to my taste at all but if you like your Bel Ami lads and the cod fumbling innocence of these painfully self aware men, then you’re in for a treat.
