Pope Benedict’s Christmas assault on gay rights seems outrageous given the unearthing of never-ending child sexual abuse scandals in the Catholic church. The Roman church has lost credibility and incredibly now seeks to moralise others in their personal behaviour. The Pope has also given great offence to those who are gay Catholics and homosexual priests, in what is becoming a crusade by the Catholic Hierarchy to hold back a changing world. Perhaps, the greatest problem of all is the amount of air-time given to the Vatican state on western television. The Pope is beamed in to everyone’s living rooms in an arrogant and presumptuous fashion as if everybody was of the Catholic faith, gay or not. It’s high time the Catholic church reformed and put it’s own house of horrors in order before in crumbles to the ground with it own internal scandals.
