Camp As Christmas raises over £3,000 for Sussex Beacon
Camp As Christmas, the community Christmas Party at Stanmer House last night (December 16) was an outstanding success and raised £3,215 for the Sussex Beacon.Dave Lynn, Miss Jason, Lady James, Jamie Watson, Rupert Ellick, Connie Conway and Mercedes Bends provided the entertainment while Tommy Turntables (Popstarz), Alex Baker (Legends), Queen Josephine (Wild Fruit) and DJ Masters (Charles Street) provided the music. The Brighton and Hove (actually) Gay Men's Chorus sang christmas carols as people arrived.
Brighton and Hove Bus Company supplied two buses including the Phil Starr bus to drive everyone up to Stanmer House. The buses were driven by Pride’s chief steward, Gavin Owen and most recent addition to the local cabaret scene, Auntie Robbie who drove his bus in full drag. Davina Sparkle and Cassidy Connors were the clippies and checked everyones tickets.
Total income from the event was £4,710, Outgoings were £1,495 leaving £3,215 for the Sussex Beacon.
